Why raw chocolate?
In aim to preserve its nutritional properties and the taste of cocoa. It is our passion for this magical fruit that brings us not to use low quality ingredients. For those who enjoy chocolate, raw chocolate is a must-experience due to its intense flavor and creamy texture. Raw cocoa is seven times more antioxidant-rich than toasted cocoa. It contains over 300 nutrients making it one of the foods richest in the world and the highest dietary source of magnesium. We believe that cocoa is a powerful ingredient, healthy, and way more than just a candy.
Preparing our raw chocolate connects us to its ancient origins, to the time it was revered for thousands of years - the Aztecs valued it for its faculties to give wisdom and vitality and that is why they were using the fermented cocoa in religious ceremonies. Its botanical name, Theobromine Cacao, literally means 'food of gods' and, being one of the healthiest foods on the planet, it would be indeed possible that, before long, the cacao gods will call you so you give it a try; well, in the end, it seems that cocoa has more value than we had previously granted to it in our new society.
Nutritional properties of raw cocoa
With more than 300 nutrients, raw cacao is a small grain extremely powerful. It is one of the richest sources of antioxidants, including flavonoids and polyphenols, which are good for the heart. It is considered to be much more rich in antioxidant substances than red wine, green tea, acai berries and even goji berries!
Raw cocoa is generous in minerals and has a high sulfur content - the mineral salt of beauty. It is also generous in iron and zinc and is the richest dietary source of magnesium. Magnesium is involved in the chemical balance of the brain, bone strength and sense of well-being. Magnesium is the mineral salt of which the French people are most deficient: more than 80% of the population suffers from chronic deficiency of magnesium.
This could explain why women sometimes have this irresistible urge for chocolate before their periods. Cocoa contains neurotransmitters such as serotonin, which helps keep the chemistry of the well-being active in the brain, by producing a sense of euphoria, whose effects are still felt long after ingesting chocolate The phenylethylamine (PEA) is the molecule found in the brains of happy people. When we fall in love, our rate of PEA increases and we are full of optimism. If concerns arise, especially in your love life, your rate of PEA falls. Raw chocolate is full of PEA. That's probably why the raw chocolate gives a natural boost and makes you feel so good!

We hope you will feel the care that we have put into preparing our chocolate and that it may prompt you to spread the word around you - after all, it is also what motivates us to do what we do! The manufacturing of raw chocolate requires much less energy than conventional chocolate. Wherever possible, our ingredients participate in fair trade, and all come from organic farming or harvested in the wild. The cocoa tree isn't easily grown outside of its natural habitat, the rainforest. Thus, eating chocolate encourages tree planting and contributes to the preservation of the forest.
